1993 Mercedes-Benz 300SL-24 Karmann R129

Following the historical W198, Mercedes-Benz 300SL, which was built by Mercedes from March 1954 to 1957, Karmann designed in 1993 a gull-wing door based on the R129 Mercedes-Benz 300SL-24 Sport Coupe.

The convertible was a sensational model and the double doors could be opened via infrared command.

The Mercedes R129 SL-Class succeeded the R107 SL (1971-1989) and was succeeded by the R230 SL-Class (since 2001).
